What problems can I get help with?

The counseling center helps people face a variety of issues and situations. Among these are: anxiety, grief, confrontation, shame, depression, divorce, self-esteem, boundaries, communication, marriage, parenting, addictions, adolescence, family problems, phobias, cutting, eating disorders, life transitions, and blended families.

What is therapy?

Therapy is the process of bringing healing to our emotional, relational, and spiritual wounds. Often, because of our brokenness, we are unable to find our own way out of difficult situations or deep emotional pain. Therapists are trained to help guide us from our broken places into right relationships with God, others, and ourselves.

Isn't God enough?

God made us and God mends us. He does this in many different ways. Sometimes He uses medical doctors to help facilitate healing in our physical bodies. Sometimes He uses trained Christian counselors to help facilitate healing in our emotional selves and in our relationships. In 2 Cor 1, Paul talks about God bringing people into our lives to walk with us through the dark times. Gifted Christian counselors can be those people.

How long does it take?

Only God really knows. However, like in the medical field, healing from simple trauma happens more quickly than healing from severe or chronic trauma. Some issues are resolved in a very few sessions; others may take months or even years to be fully healed.

How much does it cost?

That will depend on the client and the issue. Some issues are resolved more quickly then others. Remember, problems usually develop over time. It will take time to unravel the layers in order to deal with the problem.
